Summary: | PURPOSE:To properly locate titled protecting pipe in a simple manner, without damaging the furnace wall, by first inserting titled pipe through the coal feed inlet of the carbonizing chamber prior to coal charge, suspending the pipe by a specially-shaped lid followed by carrying out a coal charge and leveling work. CONSTITUTION:In order to measure the temperature in the coal existing in the carbonizing chamber 8 of a coke oven, titled protecting pipe 1 having a crook 2 so that the portion corresponding to the leveling beam-passing position parallels with the wall of the furnace while inserted into the center of the chamber 8, and in the lower part, provided with a rocking-proof member 6 being in contact with both of the wall, is inserted through the coal feed inlet 9 prior to coal charge, being suspended by the lid 5 fixed to the periphery of the inlet 9, almost opened, and having a suspending device at the center, followed by carrying out the coal charge and leveling work. |
