Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency of a hot hydrostatic pressing device by removing a furnace bod contg. a material to be treated in said device from a high temp. pressure resistant vessel then cooling said body with a unit cooler of a specific construction. CONSTITUTION:A unit furnace 13 contg. the molding of powder metal is placed on a carriage 59 in the position (a), and is unloaded into a pressure vessel 12 in the position (b) by a feeding cylinder 25 in the stage of performing operation such as compression molding and sintering of power metal. The molding is then transferred from the position (c) to (d), and a high temp. high pressure medium is supplied from a supply and discharge pipe 28 installed in a press frame 11 into the vessel 12, by which the molding is hot-hydrostatically pressed and the molding of the powder metal or the like is compressed and sintered. The high temp. and high pressure medium is discharged, whereafter the unit furnace 13 is transferred to the position (e), where the furnace is hoisted with a cylinder 26 for carrying out, and is put into a unit cooler 40 in the position (g). A chiller 43 is pressed to the molding by a hydraulic cylinder 42, whereby the molding is forcibly cooled. The cycle time including the cooling stage of the furnace body is considerably reduced and the working efficiency of the hot hydrostatic pressing device is improved.
