Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorine-containing polymer having electro-conductivity, stability against air and resistance to oxidation and being suited as an electronic material, by polymerizing a specified trifluorovinylsilane in the presence of a catalyst which generates active fluorine anions. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine-containing polymer represented by formula II (wherein x and n are positive integers, and y is 0 or a positive integer) is obtained by polymerizing a trifluorovinylsilane of formula I (wherein R , R , and R are each a lower alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl), e.g., trifluorovinyltrimethylsilane or trietyltrifluorovinylsilane, in the presence of a catalyst which generates active fluorine anions. Examples of said catalyst include potassium fluoride, tetrabutylammonium fluoride, and tetraoctylphonium fluoride. The obtained polymer has an electric conductivity as high as that of silver bromide. |
