Summary: | PURPOSE:To produce a novel polymer suitable for coating due to improved heat resistance, moldability and solubility in commonly used organic solvents, by polycondensing an N-phthalimide based dicarboxylic acid component and an aromatic diamine component containing two ether bonds. CONSTITUTION:An N-phthalimide based dicarboxylic acid component of formula I (X is Cl or OH) is polycondensed with an aromatic diamine component of formula II (R1-R4 are H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, Cl or Br; R5 and R6 are H, CH3, C2H5, CF3 or CCl3) having two ether bonds in the presence of a solvent to give the aimed novel polymer having repeating units of formula III. |
