Summary:PURPOSE:To expand the degree of freedom of the printing position to the line direction and facilitate the high speed output by a method wherein printing data of one page, compiled by each line, or printing data of one line, complied with figure letters and control letters, are printed by a plurality of printing controller. CONSTITUTION:Printing data are compiled in a printing apparatus, in which the printing osition to the line direction is controlled by a forms control buffer, by separating fractional formulae into three lines n-1, n and n+1. Wi means a shifting pitch of the line and lj means the size of a letter. The number of lines and the shifting pitch of each line are loaded into the forms control buffer 3 previously from CPU and memorized. The printing data, compiled for each line and transmitted from CPU, are put into an input buffer 1 and subjected to the process such as CG address conversion from the letter codes by a compiling processor and memorized in a page buffer 4. When the data for one page are stored, the printing data are read out by each line from the page buffer by a read-out part 5 and transmitted to a printing controller and converted into dot patterns by CG10 and transmitted to PR and the printing operation is performed.
