Summary: | PURPOSE:To detect a position of a photodetecting image extending over a wide range on a photodetecting face by simple processing, by combining two comb-shaped photoelectric elements so as to be meshed with each other, and varying linearly extending from the tip part to the base part with respect to sensitivity to light per unit length of a part corresponding to a tooth of a comb shape. CONSTITUTION:In figure, 3, 4, and 5, 6, and 7 denote comb-shaped photoelectric elements, a part of the photoelectric elements 3, 4 corresponding to a tooth of a comb shape, respectively, and an example of a photodetecting image, respectively. The teeth 5, 6, of the comb shape have a wedge shape in this example, and vary sensitivity of each length of the tooth. As a photoelectric element used in this case, if the intensity of illumination is the same, when an element which obtains an output being proportional to a photodetecting area is selected, an output of each photoelectric element 3, 4, by the image 7 is in proportion to an area for receiving an image of the parts 5, 6 of each tooth. If an interval of the teeth 5, 6 of the comb shape is sufficiently narrower than size of the image, the part irradiated by light of each tooth is regarded as a trapezoid by disregarding a bend of both end parts, therefore, its area becomes the product of the part irradiated by light and width of the tooth in the center part of the image. |
