Summary:PURPOSE:To improve reliability of the operation of a piezoelectric bimorph by superposing a piezoelectric element which is elongated in a direction perpendicular to the polarizing axis direction and a piezoelectric element which is contracted by applying an electric field to a polarizing axis direction, thereby reducing the ageing change. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric element 1 is elongated in a direction perpendicular to the polarizing axis direction when an electric field is applied to the same direction as the polarizing axis direction designated by an arrow A, and a piezoelectric element 2 is contracted in the direction perpendicular to the polarizing axis direction when an electric field is applied to the same direction as the polarizing direction. The element 1, 2 and bonded via a metal electrode plate 3 so that the polarizing axis directions are opposed, conductive layers 4, 5 are formed on the respective one side surfaces, the layers 4, 5 are connected to one electrode terminal of a DC power source 6, and the plate 3 is connected to the other electrode terminal of the power source 6. In this manner, out of polarization is not product, but stable piezoelectricity can be maintained.
