Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate a delay in the timing of pressure-reducing, by resetting a reference wheel speed if the difference between a set reference wheel speed and a wheel speed reaches the second wheel speed threshold value before it reaches the first wheel speed threshold value at which the control of pressure-reducing is initiated. CONSTITUTION:If the deceleration exceeds a threshold value at a sampling time (a1), the wheel speed VP at this time is set as a reference wheel speed Vs. Thereafter both wheel speeds are compared with each other, and if the wheel speed exceeds the reference wheel speed at a time a3, the wheel speed at the time a3 is again reset as the reference wheel speed Vs. Further, since the wheel speed exceeds also at the time a4, the reference wheel speed Vs is again set. Subsequently, with the similar steps the reference wheel speed is successively reset so that the reference wheel speed is properly set at a time which is substantially the same as the time when the deceleration due to braking reaches the threshold value, thereby the decreasing operation of braking pressure may be surely made at the time a18.
