Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Cu alloy having improved heat resistance and strength without deteriorating heat conductivity and solderability peculiar to copper by adding small amounts of Fe and Cr to a Cu-Sn alloy, and specifying the composition. CONSTITUTION:This Cu alloy for the fins of a car radiator consists of, by weight, 0.05-0.5% Sn, 0.02-0.2% Fe, 0.02-0.2% Cr and the balance. Cu. It has improved heat resistance without deteriorating heat conductivity and solderability peculiar to copper, so inexpensive high-Pb solder with a high m.p. can be used. The Cu alloy also has improved strength, so fins can be reduced in thickness and weight, and the cost of a radiator is reduced.
