Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain signal light with a good S/N by producing foams in a liquid and varying reflection states of incident luminous flux with the shape of the liquid surface. CONSTITUTION:When heating resistors 21a and 21c generate heat, liquids 25a and 25c are heated to produce foams therein. Then, the liquid surfaces of said liquids 25a and 25c are raised momentarily because of the volume of the vapor foams and their surface shapes become irregular. When luminous flux is made incident to said liquids at some angle, the incident luminous flux is reflected regularly by the surface of a liquid wherein there is no vapor foam, but reflected irregularly by the surfaces of the liquids containing vapor foams. Either of pieces of luminous flux of regular reflection and diffused reflection is guided out selectively according to the fluctuations of the liquid surface to obtain modulated information luminous flux.
