Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a printer capable of smoothly feeding a printing paper in a returning direction by a tractor, wherein a return roller capable of being rotated in both a forward direction and a reverse direction is provided on a supplying side of a platen, and a return pinch roller is so provided that it can be freely brought into contact with and separated from the return roller. CONSTITUTION:The return roller 11 is so provided that it can be rotated forwardly and reversely, and the return pinch roller 22 is so provided that it can be brought into contact with and separated from the return roller 11 through a paper guide 17 by a solenoid 21. When feeding the printing paper (a) in the returning direction, the pinch roller 22 is pressed against the return roller 11 through the paper (a) on the supplying side of the platen 1, and the paper is fed by a turning force of the return roller 11.
