Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a FRP plate spring which can have strength and durability enough to be used as an extending plate spring for a car and to improve productivity of the spring by mixing styrene of bisphenol A type epoxy resin with a hardening agent to use a matrix resin having a specified high temperature hardening time, a hardening shrinkage rate and a thermal deformation temperature. CONSTITUTION:A matrix resin formed by mixing styrene and a hardening agent with a bisphenol A type epoxy resin is impregnated with reinforcing fiber to be fixed in one body. Thus, a FRP plate spring is made. In case of the matrix resin, the content of styrene or the kind and content of the hardening agent is set in such a manner that the high-temperature hardening time is 40 to 50min., the hardening shrinkage rate is 5 to 6% and the thermal deformation temperature is 130 deg.C and more. If the hardening shrinkage rate is less than 5%, the hardening time is elongated, and if it is above 6%, the lateral camber exceeds a permissible value for a plate spring. If the thermal deformation temperature is less than 130 deg.C, a heat-resisting temperature 80 deg.C required as a plate spring is not attained.
