Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the high-temperature preservation characteristic of a nonaqueous electrolyte battery by forming an inactive compound film stable to nonaqueous electrolyte over the surface of an active light metal which is a negative active material by preparing the nonaqueous electrolyte by dissolving mixture consisting of lithium borofluoride and lithium perchlorate used as an electrolyte in an organic solvent. CONSTITUTION:In a battery constituted by using a light metal as a negative active material 3 and containing a positive electrode 5 and a nonaqueous electrolyte, mixture consisting of borofluoride and lithium perchlorate is used as an electrolyte for the nonaqueous electrolyte. The above electrolyte is prepared by dissolving 1-10pts.wt. of lithium perchlorate in 100pts.wt. of lithium borofluoride. It is preferred that an organic solvent prepared by mixing a high-boiling- point solvent with a low-boiling-point solvent be used as a solvent for the nonaqueous electrolyte. As a result, increase in the internal resistance of the battery which might be caused due to denaturation of the nonaqueous electrolyte which might be caused by direct chemical reaction between the nonaqueous electrolyte and lithium metal during preservation at a temperature of over 85 deg.C can be inhibited. |
