Summary:PURPOSE:To enable to control the fuel injection timing accurately without influence of aging, by calculating the actual injection timing from the actual lift of a cam disk used in an injection pump and a reference value of the injection timing obtained from the maximum value and the mnimum value of the lift of the cam disk. CONSTITUTION:In operation of an engine, the lift of a cam disk 1 used in a fuel injection pump is detected by a detector 2 and the output signal of the detector 2 is applied to a reference value determining means 3. In the means 3, a reference value fot the fuel injection timing is obtained from the maximum value and the minimum value of the lift of the cam disk 1, and an analogue signal for the output signal of the reference value determining means 3 is produced from a conversion circuit 4. Then, the analogue signal is compared as a threshold level with the output signal of the detector 2 in a comparison circuit 5, and the output signal of the comparison circuit 5 is applied to a control means 6 as the actual injection timing signal and compared with an aimed injection timing. Further, a timer 8 for controlling the fuel injection timing is controlled by producing a driving signal based on the deviation between the aimed injection timing and the actual injection timing.
