Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a high-quality image causing no color stain by allowing a development inhibiting component to act nonimagewise on a color photographic sensitive material at an appropriate time in a color development stage so as to improve discrimination between the image and nonimage parts. CONSTITUTION:When a color photographic sensitive material is color-developed, a development inhibiting component such as a 1-phenyl-5-mercaptotetrazole deriv. or benzotriazole is added at the time when the development of the exposed part is in a rapid growth stage and the fog of the unexposed part is before a growth stage, that is, after the lapse of 1/6-5/6 of the standard color development time. An inhibitor sheet may be brought into contact with the sensitive material, or a precursor of an inhibitor may be incorporated beforehand into the sensitive material so as to release the inhibitor at an appropriate time. Thus, the exposed part is developed at high density without causing fog, and color stain is prevented. |
