Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the buff provided with grinding force and conformability by a method wherein sewing of a bias-cut sisal cloth and a cotton cloth is regulated. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of bias-cut woven cloths are piled and are sewed with intervals of 5-15mm. into one direction to make a rectangular buff member while the member is bent at 1/3 of the width thereof from the edge into the direction orthogonal to the sewing line, further, the member is bent into half inwardly at the center thereof into the direction orthogonal to the first bent direction and, thus, the unit 6 is produced. A multitude of these units 6 are folded sequentially by deviating by 1/2 of the width of the unit so as to expose the first bent 4 outwardly and to obtain a total length equal to the outer circumference of the buff, the side of the final bent 5, to be contacted with the outer peripheral surface of a ring, is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the ring 7 with pawls into a wheel shape which is biting and being secured to the ring. Further, concentric circular sewing lines 8 or a scroll-type sewing line are made with proper intervals to integrate respective units 6 and, thus, the unit buff is manufactured. In this case, the ratio of the width of the unit 6 to the length thereof should be 3:2-1:2.
