PURPOSE:To increase output of power plant while to reduce cost of repair work, by providing a water tank between the center level of hydraulic machine and down stream level and absorbing the head between the center level and the level to be maintained by the water tank as suction head. CONSTITUTION:Power plant 1 is placed at level GL then a water tank 4 is provided through a rib 4-1 to a suction pipe 3. The position of water tank 4 is made as low as possible within the characteristic of hydraulic machine 2. Consequently the head H3 between the center level B of said machine and water level D to be maintained by the water tank 4 is absorbed as the suction head. Consequently the head of hydraulic machine 2 will be H1 (Head between upper water level and the center B of hydraulic machine) + H3 to increase the power plant output by H3. With such structure, even in case of repair work including modification of specification, repair work of power plant and discharge path 5 can be minimized to utilize the head effectively resulting in effective repair work with low cost.
