Summary: | PURPOSE:To quicken the positioning and clamping by a device for three-dimensionally positioning and clamping a workpiece having a reference plane on the top, by providing a vertically-movable lower clamp block and an upper slide block furnished with a horizontal positioning means. CONSTITUTION:To set a workpiece W, it is first put on a free bearing 20 in such a manner that the center hole 1c of the hub 1 of the workpiece is placed nearly under a taper pin 16 and the reference plane 4 of the workpiece is placed under the contact plane 14b of a slide block 14. The taper pin 16 is protruded by an actuator 19. The slide block 14 is let gravitate. The tip of the taper pin 16 is fitted into the center hole 1c so that the pin restrains the motion of the workpiece W. The clamp block 21 is then elevated to push up the workpiece W and pinch it between the blocks 14, 21. The workpiece W is thus positioned and clamped. After that, the taper pin 16 is retracted and the hub 1 is rotated to carry out processing required. |
