Summary:PURPOSE:To decrease the flawing on a drum surface owing to guide plates by providing plural sheets of the guide plates having different thickness for the purpose of contg. a cleaned developer into a developer container. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning device is provided with a blade 8 and guide plates 9a, 9b, 9c having different thickness for contg. the developer scraped by the blade 8 from a drum surface 1 into a developer container. The guide plates are provided apart from each other at a specified space. The plate 9a in the uppermost stage is formed of a thick and stiff base material and is placed at a space l of about 0.5mm. from the surface 1. The plate 9b in the 2nd stage is formed of the same base material as the material in the 1st stage and is slightly lighter-gaged. Said plate is provided at a space l' of about 0.3mm. from the surface 1. The plate 9c in the lowermost stage is formed of an extremely thin base material of about 25mu such as ''Teflon'' tape or the like, and said plate 9c is provided in contact with the surface 1.
