Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which prevents the progression of drift and the decrease in the sewage treating capacity to be resulted therefrom by providing flow regulating valves each disposed with floating valve bodies above and beneath the narrow part in many outflow parts provided to the partition plate between the reaction section in the body of a sewage treating device and the water receiving section thereof. CONSTITUTION:The sewage supplied 19 into the body 1 of the above-mentioned sewage treating device 1 and admitted into a water receiving section 4 is passed through flow regulating valves 6 to a reaction section 3 where the sewage is treated. When the thickness of the sand layer in a fluidized bed 5 is uniform over the entire part and there is no clogging, the positions of the valve bodies 13, 14 of all the flow regulating valves 6 with respect to valve pipes 8 are approximately the same and the flow rate of the liquid admitted through all the valves 6 into the reaction section is made uniform. When the thickness of the sand layer in the bed 5 decreases partially and some part is clogged, the resistance when the sewage passes the bed 5 is not uniform. When the body 13 is lifted upward on increasing of, for example, the flow rate of the sewage, the lower body 14 approaches to a tapered part 10b, thereby decreasing the area of the flow pasage of the valve 6 and decreasing the flow rate of the sewage. When the flow rate of the sewage decreases, the body 14 descends and increases the flow rate of the sewage.
