Summary:PURPOSE:To contract and fix the tube of an optical connector by sheathing the tip part of a bushing with a tube made of a heat-shrinkable material after setting the end part of a ''Kevler '' fiber. CONSTITUTION:After the internal coating 2 of an optical fiber cable 1 is inserted into a bushing 11'' and a ''Kevler '' fiber 3 is arranged at the outer circumferential tip of the bushing 11'', the busing is sheathed with a heat-shrinkable tube 14 and contracted by being heated to fix the ''Kevler '' fiber 3 tightly between the hushing 11'' and tube 14. Then, a clamping nut 13'' is engaged threadably with the bushing 11''. An annular recessed part 11''a is formed in the bushing 11'' and then the tube 14 when contracting enters the recessed part 11''a partially, so they are fixed completely by the recessed part and projecting part biting into it after the contraction and fixation. Further, the tube 14 is clamped by the clamping nut 13'', so the effect for a clamping the ''Kevler '' fiber is increased.
