Summary: | PURPOSE:To suppress the abrasion of the refractories around the tuyeres and to prolong the life of a furnace body in the stage of blowing oxidative gases or the like through the tuyeres penetrating through refractories by specifying the length of the tuyeres projecting from the refractories. CONSTITUTION:A hollow pipe 3 formed with screw threads 1 on the inside circumferential surface is penetrated through a shell 3 and lining refractories 4 and is stuck thereto, whereby a tuyere 5 is formed. An outside pipe 6 is inserted and screwed freely rotatably into the pipe 2, and further an inside pipe 7 is inserted concentrically into the pipe 6 at a specified spacing therefrom, whereby the pipe 7 and the pipe 6 are connected to one body. Then, the preceding ends of the pipe 7 and the pipe 6 can be projected from the refractories 4 by rotating both pipes simultaneously. This tuyere 5 is so held that the length at which the tuyere projects from the refractories 4 attains 0.5<=l/D<=3 (l is the length at which the tuyere 5 projects from the refractories 4 around the same, and D is outside diameter of the tuyere). Thus, the thickness of the solidified iron 8 stuck on the preceding end part of the tuyere 5 is increased and the erosion of the refractories 4 is prevented without promoting the erosion of the tuyere 5. |
