PURPOSE:To obtain a white prismatic crystalline substance of a uniform shape suitable for use as a filler for improving the physical properties of PVC by mixing a calcareous starting material with a siliceous starting material and gypsum in a specified weight ratio, adding water to the mixture, curing the mixture in an autoclave, and dehydrating and drying the cured mixture. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. as CaO of a calcareous starting material (A) such as quick lime or slaked lime are mixed with 35-75pts. as SiO2 of a siliceous starting material (B) such as finely powdered silica sand or silica gel and 100- 200pts. as CaSO4.2H2O of gypsum (C) such as natural gypsum or gypsum discharged after desulfurizing stack gas. After adding about 1-10pts. water to 1pt. of the resulting starting material mixture, the mixture is cured at 130-230 deg.C in an autocalve, and by dehydrating and drying the cured mixture, the desired white prismatic crystalline substance is obtd. The substance can be added as a filler to PVC or other resin up to 1:1 ratio without requiring grinding.
