Summary:NEW MATERIAL:Aluminum guaiazulenesulfonate shown by the formula. USE:An antiphlogistic or antiulcer. Having lower toxicity than its sodium salt, it has strong ulcer control action. Insoluble in water. Being allowed to stand at room temperature, it will not show any change in appearance such as moisture absorption, etc. It colors in blue violet. PROCESS:1-10wt% aqueous solution of sodium guaiazulenesulfonate is reacted with 10-20wt% aluminum ion at a pH of 3-7, preferably 4.5-6 at room temperature, to give a compound shown by the formula. Aluminum hydroxide, aluminum chloride, aluminum isopropoxide, etc. may be cited as the aluminum ion to be used.
