Summary:PURPOSE:To adjust the capacity of a compressor by changing the rotational angle of a rotary valve installed in a vane compressor and by changing the position of communication of the working space in the compressor with its suction pressure chamber. CONSTITUTION:In case no capacity adjustment is made, a port P of the rotary valve 13 is situated outside the internal circumferential surface 2' of the liner, and the maximum capacity of the working space will be the space defined by VAO as a vane's 1a blocking the suction port S. When the rotary valve 13 turns for 100 deg. in the n direction, the port P inside the internal circumferential surface 2' of the liner is put in communication with the suction space formed by the front side plate and front housing in the zone P1. Therefore the maximum capacity of the working space will become the space defined by VA' as vane's 1a blocking the port P of the rotary valve 13, where the quantity of refrigerant discharge has a volume ratio of approx. 60% to the discharge in case no capacity adjustment is made.
