Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the weight segregation and grain size segregation of raw materials by providing a storage hopper in an upper stage and a stationary hopper in a lower stage staircasely coaxially at their central axes to the center of a blast furnace, charging the raw mateials into the storage hopper with a swiveling chute and charging the raw materials into the blast furnace with variable opening and closing mechanisms provided in the lower parts of both hoppers. CONSTITUTION:A storage hopper 10A in which raw materials are stored temporarily and a stationary hopper 10B which has pressure equializing and releasing functions are provided in such a way that the central axes thereof are coaxial to the center 9 of a blast furnace 8, by locating the hopper 10A in the upper stage. The raw materials are supplied by a belt conveyor 1 into a swiveling chute 15 which is rotated by a rotating and driving device 16 and are packed in the hopper 10A. The raw materials packed therein are packed into the hopper 10B by opening a variable opening and closing mechanism 13 located in the lower part and an upper sealing valve 12 successively. Thereafter, a variable opening and closing mechanism 13 and a lower sealing valve 14 are opened successively to drop the raw materials perpendicularly into the swiveling chute 5 in the furnace 8.
