Summary:NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formulaI(R is alkyl; R1 is H, amino, OH or halogen; R2 is carboxyl or group which can be converted to carboxyl; m is 0- 2). EXAMPLE:9-Ethyl-2-hydroxy-5-oxo-5H-[1]benzopyrano[ 4, 3-6 ]pyridine-3-carboxamide. USE:Useful as a preventive and remedy for allergic diseases. Effective to allergic asthma, allergic dermatitis, hay fever, etc. Dose: 1-500mg dayly for adult. PROCESS:The compound of formula II is made to react with malonodiamide in an alcoholate derivated from an alcohol and an alkali metal, at a temperature between 0 deg.C and the boiling point of the alcohol, to obtain the compound of formulaI(R2 is CONH2).
