Summary:PURPOSE:To manufacture a saw tough, sharp and durable, with the use of compound materials. CONSTITUTION:Carbon hard steel plates 2 for blades are superposed on both surfaces of a soft iron plate 1, and both surfaces of this superposed material are covered with covering carbon hard metal steel plates 3. Both end faces of the superposed material are covered with welded members 4. The superposed material is then made into a saw material having a desired thickness by being heated and rolled with rolls. The saw material is formed into a secondary saw material having cutting blades 5 by a conventional method having the steps of shaping, quenching, sharpening, etc. After sharpening, the above-mentioned covering carbon hard steel plates 3 are removed by grinding or the like until both surfaces therebelow are exposed.
