Summary:PURPOSE:To enhance the resistance against vibration and impact of a battery by providing a synthetic resin stationary member on a connecting member between plates, softening the connected portion between the stationary member and a cell cover and forming shrinkage interferance at the connected portion in case that the cover is pressed to be connected to the cell tank. CONSTITUTION:A battery is formed by containing cathode and anode plates and separators laminated as battery element 2 in a monoblock cell case 1 having partition walls 4, providing connectors 6 between cells for connecting the cathode and anode plates of the element 2 and terminals 10 or the like, and connecting the case 1 to the cell cover 7. When hot welding the cell cover, electrolyte resistant synthetic resin stationary member 14 is disposed on the connecting conductor 6 between the cells, and a depending wall 15 is provided at the cover 7 to face with the member 14. The connected portion 16 at the end of the wall 15 is connected to the connected portion 17 of the member 14 when pressing the connecting portion 8 of the case to the connecting portion 9 of the cell cover to form a shrinkage interferance upon pressing of the conductor 6. The member 14 is connected to the cutout 5 of the wall 4.
