Summary:PURPOSE:To perform the flow detection of the weldered parts simply and correctly, by using two probes. CONSTITUTION:At the fixed axes 6 and 8 placed at the tip of the links 3a to 3f fixed to the center shaft of the surface plate 1, the transmission probe 5 having the same width as the thickness of the beam flange B and transmitting ultrasonic beam toward the boundary T, and the reception probe 7 receiving the ultrasonic beam reflected on the boundary T with the same constitution are placed. Further, while the probes 5 and 7 are moved with equal distance toward opposite direction each other along the side surface of the beam flange B, ultrasonic waves are propagated in the steel member through the contact medium such as glycerin. The all the surface of the welded part C is checked for cracks, the height to deficient echo is detected, the changes in the height and the integration value are compared with value for the comparing test piece to estimate the deficient area at the welded part C.
