Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain an electrolytic chromic acid treated steel sheet for adhered can having excellent surface characteristics by regulating the concn. of free fluorine in a plating soln. consisting essentially of chromic anhydride and a fluorine compd., and the ratio among the free fluorine, total fluorine and sulfate group. CONSTITUTION:A steel sheet is subjected to a cathodic electrolyzing treatment in a plating bath contg. <=0.2g/l sulfuric acid group and chromic anhydride and a fluorine compd. while regulating the concn. of the free fluorine in the bath at >=0.15g/l, the ratio of the free fluorine/total fluorine at >=0.05, and the ratio of the free fluorine/sulfate group at >=2.0. The electrolytic chromic acid treated steel sheet having metallic chromium on the lower layer and chromium oxide on the upper layer is obtd. by the electrolytic treatment. The electrolytic chromic acid treated steel sheet for adhered cans which withstands high temp. packing and pasteurization and has good adhesive characteristics and excellent surface quality characteristics is obtained by the above-mentioned bath control. |
