Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce fuel consumption of a boiler and to improve power generation efficiency drastically, by a method wherein a vapor reservoir is provided between a reheater outlet and a feed-water heater, and extraction steam quantity is reduced. CONSTITUTION:A low pressure feed-water heater 8 is connected through a gate valve 24 and piping 25 with an outlet edge of a vapor reservoir 18 which reserves vapor passing through a reheater 14. At the time of start of power generation the vapor which comes out of a boiler 1 and passes through a high pressure turbine bypass piping 13, the reheater 14, a desuperheater 21 is reserved in the vapor reservoir 18. At the time of a rating operation the vapor reserved in the vapor reservoir 18 is recovered in the low pressure feed-water heater 8. In this manner, vapor energy at the time of either start of the power generation or load interruption can be recovered, generated vapor quantity by the boiler is reduced, fuel consumption of the boiler can be reduced drastically and power generation efficiency can be improved drastically.
