Summary:PURPOSE:The titled polyolefin composition capable of forming highly expanded foam having a uniform cell structure and excellent appearance, containing a volatile organic blowing agent, a specified amine and a specified amide. CONSTITUTION:Use is made of an amine of formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-5 C alkylene, Acyl is H or an acyl, n is 1-10, and X is 0-2), e.g., 2-hydroxyethylamine, and an amide of formula II (wherein R2 is a 1-5 C alkylene, R3 is a 1- 23 C hydrocarbon group, m is 1-10, and y is 0 or 1), e.g., N-mono-2-hydroxyethylhexanamide. Namely, 100pts.wt. (A) polyolefin, preferably, high-density polyethylene having a HMI <= about 30g/10min and a swell value <= about 30g/ 10cm, is mixed with about 5-80pts.wt. volatile blowing agent (e.g., dichlorotetrafluoroethane/methyl chloride mixture) and about 0.05-15pts.wt. (total amount) above amine and amide.
