Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a laser beam printer which can be used as an electrophotographic copying device also, by not using a film where a negative format is printed but using a normal formatted form and performing synthesis of format and characters. CONSTITUTION:A form for overlay put on a original placing plate 11 is irradiated from below obliquely by a light source 12. The reflected light is reflected at 90 deg. by a mirror 13 and passes through a coupling lens 14 and is reflected by a mirror 15 and reaches a photosensitive drum 3, and the image of a part A out of entered contents of the form is focused to a part B of the photosensitive drum 3. A main charging unit 17, a divisional charging unit 16, a developing unit 23, a transfer unit 24, and a cleaning unit 18 are provided around the photosensitive drum 3 in the direction of the rotation of the photosensitive drum respectively. By the rotation of the photosensitive drum 3, the electric charge on a photoconductor layer of the surface is all removed by the action of the cleaning unit 18. Only a region to be printed by the laser beam printer is charged selectively by the voltage control of each electrode 16-5 of the divisional charging unit 16.
