Summary: | PURPOSE:To perform the efficient purification of water, by providing an anode equipped with a positive terminal in a box-shaped cathode, and circulating water through a passage defined by the two electrodes while periodically impressing a positive high-voltage current between both of the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A box-shaped cathode 2 having an inflow opening 3a and an outflow opening 3b is earthed and fixed through a bolt 5. A negative terminal 4 is attached through a bolt 12 to the cathode 2, and an anode 6 clamped between a couple of insulating bodies 7 and having a surface coatede with a semiconductor 8 (of 10 -10 OMEGA.cm in water) is provided inside the cathod 2. The apparatus for the treatment of water is constituted by providing a positive terminal 9 at the inner surface of the anode 6, and an insulating body 10 and O-rings 12a- 12c for preventing the leakage of circulating water at the parts where the positive terminal 9 passes through the anode 6 and the coating semiconductor 8, respectively. In this apparatus, the purification of water can be effectively performed, and the function to maintain the safety can be exhibited. |
