Summary:PURPOSE:To connect an optical fiber easily without contaminating a ferrule with an adhesive agent used, by inserting the optical fiber into a cylindrical body provided with a slender hole of a small diameter and a hole of a large diameter for positioning of the optical fiber then inserting a fixing member having elasticity forcibly into the large diameter hole. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 10 is inserted into a cylindrical body, which has a slender hole 11a for positioning of the fiber so as to align the same to the central axis of a ferrule body 11 and a hole 11b of the diameter larger than the diameter of said hole, from the hole 11b side, and after the forward ends of the fibers 10 and the hole 11a are made flush, an annular body having a small hole 12a through which the fiber 10 is inserted loosely to the center of a fixing member 12 having elasticity is inserted forcibly into the hole 11b. The central hole 12a is thus deformed to a small diameter and the fiber 10 is press-stuck and fixed. A cap 13 is further screwed thereto to adjust the degree of press fitting of the fixing member. The optical fiber 10 is thus stored in the plug and connected without contaminating the ferrule with the adhesive agent.
