Summary:PURPOSE:To maintain an original form of a protecting device without being influenced by a variation even if a variation occurs between an inner tank and an outer tank, and also to raise the temperature sensitivity efficiency, by forming the protecting device for protecting a thermometer, as a base part protecting tube of a large diameter and a tip part protecting tube of a small diameter, and fixing the base part protecting tube to the tank. CONSTITUTION:As for a temperature detecting device 6, an enclosed protecting device 9 is formed by a base part protecting tube 7 of a large diameter, and a tip part protecting tube 8 of a small diameter, concatenated to the base part protecting tube 7, this protecting device 9 is made to pass through an inner tank 2 and an outer tank 3 in the lower part of a heat insulating tank 1, the base protecting tube 7 is fixed to both of the tanks 2, 3, and the tip part protecting tube 8 is made to face in the inside of the inner tank 2. In the protecting device 9, a thermometer 12 having a heat sensible part 10 storing mercury in its tip and having a screw part 11 on its base end is fixed by positioning the heat sensible part 10 in the tip part protecting tube 8 and screwing the screw part 11 to the base part protecting tube 7. In this way, even if the inner tank 2 expands and contracts by the heat of a liquid contained therein and its position against the outer tank 3 is varied, since the base part protecting tube 7 fixed to both the tanks 2, 3 has a large diameter, enough strength is obtained, by which its original form is maintained, and also the heat sensible part 10 of the thermometer 12 approaches the stored liquid, therefore, the temperature sensitivity efficiency is raised, and a temperature of the stored liquid can be detected in a short time.
