Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent an electrode from short-circuiting without reducing the charging quantity of an active material, by setting a synthetic resin coating film layer on the outer surface of a tube body making up the anode of a fiber-clad type lead storage battery, extending over the almost semicircumference of the tube body. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin coating film layer 12 used for a loading of the semicircumference portion of the outer surface of a tube body 11 being braided with an acid proof glass fiber in all directions is formed up, setting it down to a side tube 10 in which an electrode grid 1 and a powdery electrode active material 2 are charged and setting these elements 1 and 2 as many as the desired number in parallel while making a surface forming the synthetic resin coating film layer 12 the outermost part which is set to be an anode plate 5, then this plate 5 is made to be opposed to a cathode plate 4 by interposing a separator 6 in between and a fiber-clad type lead storage battery is made up. Therefore, there is no necessary to enlarge thickness of the side tube 10 whereby an electrode short circuit can be effectively prevented without any reduction in the charging quantity of the electrode active material.
