Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the input efficiency of data to a personal computer, by providing a display part, a control part having an editing function and a battery backed-up and loadable/unloadable nonvolatile cartridge. CONSTITUTION:A simple keyboard 1 is provided with a control circuit CNT which performs the input/output control of data, a keyboard KB, a display part DSP, an ROM storing a control program, a loadable/unloadable nonvolatile memory cartridge MC which is backed up by a battery BT, an interface circuit IF, and a power supply circuit PS. The circuit CNT controls the KB and the DSP to perform input/output of data and at the same time edits the input data to store it in the MC. The input data given from the keyboard 1 is fed to a personal computer 2 via the circuit IF. In case the quantity of the handling data is large, the data is once stored to a cassette tape 5 by a cassette recorder 4. Then the data is supplied to the computer 2 from the recorder 4.
