Summary:PURPOSE:To minaturize a copy transmitter, by detecting the receiving/recording state of a receiving device and then delivering this receiving/recording state in the form of a communication history. CONSTITUTION:The picture information is transmitted to a terminal R from a terminal Q for the polling given from a private exchange PABX 1. In such a case, an instruction packet of transmission request is sent to the PABX 1 from the terminal Q. Receiving this instruction packet, the PABX 1 switches a rotary switch of the exchange 4 to select the terminal R and transmits a signal ACK to the terminal Q to inform that the terminal R is detected. Then the terminal Q detects the transmitting conditions including the size, the number of sheets, etc. of originals as well as the recording state of the terminal R. Then a communication history is produced and sent to the terminal Q when the terminal R is busy.
