Summary:PURPOSE:To catch the mist certainly by a small and simple cylindrical structure formed by arranging a partition plate and a multilayered cylindrical filter in the interior of a cylindrical barrel body. CONSTITUTION:An argon gas containing sodium mist is introduced into a cylindrical barrel body 1 from an inlet pipe 5 and is passed through a multilayered cylindrical filter 8 to catch the mist and a purified argon gas is discharged from an outlet pipe 6. The mist caught on the filter surface is flowed downwardly by gravity and fallen in drops, thereafter is flowed along a tapered bottom surface 4 of the cylindrical barrel body 1 to an inlet pipe 5 and recovered. The interior temperature within the barrel body 1 is detected by two thermocouples 13, 14 and maintained above the melting point of the fluid metal by controlling the electric current conducted to preheater 15.
