Summary:PURPOSE:To simplify a device required for the calculation of an effective value of a forecasting error to set up the threshold value of noise detection, by calculating said effective value from an auto-correlation function and a forecasting factor found in a process to calculate a forecasting value. CONSTITUTION:An auto-correlation function rj of an input signal xi from an auto-correlation function calculating circuit 10 is sent to a forecasting calculation circuit 11 and a forecasting factor aj and the effective value DELTAxrms of a forecasting error are calculated. A forecasting value operating circuit 30 consisting of P units of registers 31-1-31-P, P units of adders 32-1-32-P and an adder 33 calculates forecasting values x'i=a1xi-1+...+apxi-p. A forecasting error detecting circuit 40 finds out a forecasting error DELTAxi. The error DELTAxi is delayed to DELTAxh by a delay circuit 80. A comparator 70 compares DELTAxh with the output Ls of a threshold setting circuit 50 and discriminates a noise at DELTAxh >=Ls. The threshold value setting circuit 50 multiplies xrms by a secsitivity factor S set up by a sensitivity setter 51 and outputs Ls. When noise is detected in the error xh, a signal compensating circuit 23 replasces the error xh with x'h to remove the noise.
