Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the processing accuracy for a workpiece by connecting a slide table to a nut holder with a wire. CONSTITUTION:For the radial displacement of the feed nut 37 of a gas bearing slide table 39, a nut holder 38 is restricted via a linear motion bearing 44 and slides on a guide bar 45, and both nut holder 38 and gas bearing slide table 39 are connected to brackets 42, 43 in the sliding direction by wires 40, 41, while they do not make direct contact with the slide table 39, resulting in no pitching effect on said table, since an air space has been provided between the nut holder 38 and the gas bearing slide table 39. Namely, a workpiece does not affect a wheel in its accuracy in the depth direction, so that dimensional accuracy can be improved.
