Summary:PURPOSE:To attain brown coloring, by using a mixture of tungsten oxide with molybdenum oxide. CONSTITUTION:Two transparent substrates 1, 2 are used. A transparent electrode 3 is formed on the inside of one substrate 1, and an EC layer 4 of a mixture of tungsten oxide with molybdenum oxide is formed on the electrode 3. A counter electrode 5 is formed on the inside of the other substrate 2. The substrates 1, 2 are then placed opposite to each other and sealed 6 at the peripheries, and an electrolyte 7 is filled into the gap. The resulting EC dimmer changes the transmissivity from 75% to 20% within 2min when 1V voltage is applied, and the color vanishing is also completed within about 2min.
