Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a drug, etc. under mild conditions selectively and in high yield industrially advantageously with preventing the formation of by-products, by reacting continuously ethyleneimine with H2S using NH3 and/or a lower alkylamine as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Ethyleneimine and H2S are simultaneously and continuously added to a reaction solvent to which NH3 and/or a lower alkylamine (e.g., dimethylamine, monoethylamine, etc.) are added as catalysts, and they are reacted to give cysteamine (H2NCH2CH2SH). The reaction is carried out in a temperature range of -5 deg.C-50 deg.C, preferably -10 deg.C-40 deg.C at a pressure <=2kg/cm , preferably <=1.5kg/cm . This method does not require a large amount of a solvent, can be carried out under mild reaction conditions approximate to normal temperature and normal pressure, and is extremely advantageous with respect to both a plant work and reaction operation. |
