Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent volatilization of a mercury portion to the atmosphere, and to reuse solid salt, by evaporating to dryness waste water generated by washing the smoke of an incinerating plant, forming solid salt, and thereafter, volatilizing the mercury portion by ventilation and heating treatment, and leading it to a wash smoke device. CONSTITUTION:Burnt waste gas 11 from a town refuse incinerating plant is led to a smoke washing device 1, treated waste water 12 is passed through a heavy metal treating device 2, and heavy metal sludge 13 is removed. This treated waste water is fed to an evaporation section where it is evaporated to dryness to leave solid salt 14, and thereafter, the salt is fed to a heater 4. In the heater 4, it is heated under the ventilating condition using such as air 10, etc. fed from an air blower 5, mercury and a mercury compount are volatilized, and innocuous solid salt 15 is obtained. The vapor from the evaporation and dry-solidification treating section 3 and exhaust 8 from the heater 4 are returned to the smoke washing device 1 by a duct 9, and are retreated.
