Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of generation of nitrogen oxide and sulfuric oxide, by controlling material filling density of a sintering layer, and waste gas suction negative pressure, and setting a mean drop speed of a specific temperature part in the sintering layer, to a prescribed vlue, in a Dwight Lloyd type sintering device. CONSTITUTION:A mixing material is fed onto a pallet 4 from an ore feed part 3, the surface layer of the material layer is ignited by an ignition furnace 5, and the material is carried toward an ore discharge part 6. On the other hand, waste gas is absorbed in the lower direction from a material sintering layer through wind boxes 71-7n placed in the lower part of the pallet 4. In said Dwight Lloyd type sintering device, a temperature is measured by thermometers 81-8n installed to each wind box 71-7n. Also, the raw material filling density and suction negative pressure controlled so that a specific temperature part in the sintering layer becomes 40-60mm./min mean drop speed. In this way, nitrogen oxide and sulfuric oxide are reduced.
