Summary: | PURPOSE:To record and form patterns equivalent to tape patterns by a currently used 2-head system VTR, by appropriately setting the interval between the main head and auxiliary head of the 1.5-head system and the fitting height. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 1 is wound around a rotary drum 16 and a lower fixed drum 19 at an angle range, a little smaller than 360 deg., and the tape is run in the direction of arrow X. A main head HA and an auxiliary head HB, each of which is composed of a pair of heads having different azimuth angles, are installed to the rotary drum 16 at an angle (alpha) interval which is a little larger than the angle during a section where the heads HA and HB cannot contact with the magnetic tape 1 and with a height difference (d). When the angle alpha and the height difference (d) are appropriately set, patterns recorded on the magnetic tape by the heads HA and HB become ones shown by the TA1, TA2, TB1, and TB2 in the diagram, and the combined pattern of patterns recorded by both heads becomes equivalent to the pattern of a 2-head VTR. |
