Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce an iron loss and weight of rotor and to enhance the motor efficiency and the coefficient of performance of the compressor by making the pile-up thickness of the rotor thinner than that of the stator by a specific amount. CONSTITUTION:A rotor 4 is linked with a body 7 of revolution incorporated in a cylinder 6 of a compressor block 2 via a shaft 5. The magnetic center of a stator 3 is not aligned with that of the rotor 4, and also the pile-up thickness H2 of rotor 4 is determined small so that the H1 of the stator 3 is larger than H2, of which the difference must be less than 9.5%. With this structure, reduction of the iron loss and the weight of rotor can be achieved, and the motor efficiency is largely improved and the higher coefficient of performance of the compressor can be gained.
