Summary:PURPOSE:To improve regeneration coefficient by a method wherein a reference level is set higher than the load signal when the vehicle is empty and lower when fully loaded and the difference between the reference level and the filter capacitor voltage is used to regulate current limits. CONSTITUTION:A reference level generating circuit STD yields ECP, high when the vehicle is empty and low when fully loaded. A comparator LMT yields a differential signal ECLM when the filter capacitor FC voltage exceeds a reference value ECP. A current controlling device ACR compares the motor current directing signal IP, the current detector CD output, and the signal ECLM, and regulates the chopper CP. This improves regeneration coefficient except when the vehicle is fully loaded.
